Are vulnerabilities addressed by adaptation actions?

Many nations are clear about which sectors are at risk from climate change. However, not all risks or vulnerabilities are met with suitable adaptation actions in the NDCs. Scroll down to explore the extent to which vulnerabilities and adaptation actions are aligned, and whether that varies by region and income group.

How did we score alignment between vulnerabilities to climate change and adaptation actions?

NDCs with adaptation components were scored as having a "low mismatch" if 1 or 2 vulnerable sectors do not have associated adaptation actions or if there are adaptation actions for 1-2 sectors with no declared vulnerabilities. They were scored as having a "high mismatch" when multiple sectors with declared vulnerability are not addressed or if there are adaptation actions for multiple sectors with no declared vulnerabilities.
